Mrs Anuradha Ajithkumar (53) heads a school in Vadavalli, Coimbatore. She is a postgraduate in psychology with a passion and degree to teach. Born and brought up in Coimbatore she also inhaled the 'entrepreneurship air' and plunged into running a school with little finance. Wanting to keep the school a low budget one with quality education she is putting all creative and financial acumen into use. She has nearly thirty years of teaching experience and is not ready to say "enough".
That is because of her passion and the energy she derives by being with children. She continues to be a learner and very often the children also teach her. She believes that schools should not instil fear in children and that they be happy in school. Children who grow up without fear will be thinkers and will not hesitate to take the less trodden path. She believes 'values are caught and not taught' and wants an environment for the children where they see values rather than hear about them.
A mother of two boys, she has allowed them follow their passion and has not insisted on what they should do. Her husband and children are into media, making ad films and short films. Her philosophy of life has been formed by her Guru Swami Chinmayanadaji and her parents who were his devotees first. She holds on to many sayings of this master to lead her life and her favourite one "Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket."
